I’ve always believed that success comes from two simple things: honesty and hard work. My 22-year career in real estate illustrates the truth of this philosophy. From breaking records in my first year as a sales agent to building a multi-million-dollar real estate company from the ground up, I’m driven to lead with integrity and “outwork” everyone else.
As the founder of Lone Star Realty, I collaborate with an exceptional group of agents to showcase and sell a stunning array of waterfront and residential homes, farm and ranch properties, and rural tracts in 13 counties across East Texas, including my office on “World Famous Bass Fishing Lake”, Lake Fork. Since Lone Star Realty’s humble beginnings as a home-based company in 2003, it has grown into a network of four offices that have collectively over $750,000,000 in sales, including more than $135,000,000 I have brought in personally.
Buying or selling any property represents a major transition. I help customers feel confident as they achieve milestones and realize long-held dreams. As a trusted guide, I connect with clients and understand their priorities throughout the process, from narrowing down initial options to negotiating the final purchase. Recognized by the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors for my industry acumen, I served on GTAR’s committees for 11 years before being elected the Chairman of the Board for the GTAR association in 2015. In 2021 I was nominated the Five Star Real Estate Agent. This nomination came from my past clients.
Although I’ve lived and breathed real estate for over two decades, I started on a very different path. After graduating from the University of Texas in 1974 with a degree in Advertising and moving to East Texas with my wife Barbara, we launched Alexander Campbell, a women’s sportswear line, in 1985. The venture proved a success, becoming a multi-million-dollar sportswear company shipping to approximately 33 states in the US as well as Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We sold the company in 1997, and, at my wife’s suggestion, we became licensed realtors in the summer of 1999. I wish I had made this decision when I was 25.
Our three children are a source of continual pride, as are our grandchildren. We have always loved Great Danes. We have had 5 Great Danes. Currently, we are down to one, a Harlequin. He was a rescue, Great Dane. We found out later that he had many health issues, but he has been the sweetest of all our Danes. Outside of work, my wife and I are dedicated Longhorns fans. I enjoy fishing with Barbara at our lake house and playing golf whenever I get the chance with my brother. My passion for my work, however, is my main interest. In these uncertain times, I hope to continue serving my customers with the same honesty and integrity that has helped my business to grow and flourish. As Mark Twain advised, “Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.”
I welcome the opportunity to work with Lone Star Realty.
It is my goal to help you create the wonderful experience I had while growing up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle. I graduated from West Texas State University and continued my education at the University of Texas at Tyler. As an educator for 30+ years, I first taught math and then spent the last 25 years as an administrator. I concluded my career in education after leading a STEM academy with the University of Texas of the Permian Basin located in Odessa, TX.
Living at Holly Lake Ranch for almost 20 years has been a wonderful experience for my wife, Cara, and our two boys. She has been the principal of James Poole Elementary for over 15 years. Both of our boys graduated from Texas A&M University. Our oldest son and his wife live in Fort Worth while he works as a project engineer. Our youngest son is now in his second year of Texas Tech School of Law.
It would be my pleasure to help guide you through the purchasing or selling process of your next property. My goal is to help make this financial decision a positive and enjoyable experience. As a former principal and assistant superintendent, I understand the importance of communicating and paying attention to every detail.
Being fluent in Spanish, I am able translate when needed.
Regardless of which chapter you are in your story, let Lone Star Realty become a part of your team that will allow you to continue your story and create even more breathtaking memories.
She’s the real deal, born at Baylor Dallas, Patti is a proud Native Texan. In 1980 Patti pursued a legal career graduating from paralegal school and worked for over ten years for Harris County Probate Judge, Jim Scanlan, one of the first legal assistants in Texas to work for a judge. Patti was instrumental in the creation of the Legal Assistant Division of the State Bar of Texas and was elected to serve as one of the first Directors. After a decade in the legal profession Patti decided to go back to college. Through grants, scholarships and personal savings she put herself through the University of St. Thomas, earning a BBA with a double major in Business Administration and Economics and received the University’s highest academic awards and recognitions including Wall Street Journal Student Achievement award.
However, instead of climbing the corporate ladder Patti decided to pursue her true passion: writing. She became a professional journalist as a newspaper reporter throughout three states. Her weekly columns, titled Life’s a Trip, appeared in 13-15 Dallas area newspapers for over 12 years. Various and numerous travel pieces were published in the Dallas Morning News and San Antonio travel sections. Many of her personal articles appeared in multiply magazines and she authored a published book.
Intrigued by real estate Patti decided to become a realtor and was licensed in 2010. Her dedication to clients and heartfelt desire to assist others made her career flourish in both the DFW area and East Texas. She moved to HLR full-time in 2014 and after a few years traveling, returned to real estate joining Lone Star Realty in February 2022. Her most valuable remuneration is doing for and giving to her clients.
After completing my service in the United States Navy, upon which I returned to Texas and entered the construction business. Where I worked under Master Craftsmen of different construction trades who ultimately became professional custom home builders. My passion for home building comes from the advice and guidance these professionals shared with me. The values instilled in me were a keen appreciation for quality with an eye for detail and the profound importance of commitment to the client. Now four decades later, these values remain instilled in me today. From 1987-1990 I attended college at Texas State Technical College. My area of study was in Electrical Construction and Aircraft Pilot Training; at Sam Houston State University, my study area was Business. Currently, I hold a license with the FAA as Private Pilot and a Commercial Drone Pilot and have a Master Electrician and Electrical Contractor License with the State of Texas. I am a former Custom Home Builder, Greg Hill Custom Homes, in Collin County where my father and I partnered. We were active in the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, something I am very proud of to this day. The impact we were a part of in helping other families achieve the American Dream is something I will cherish forever.

You can find a mortgage loan in a lot of places, like public banks and private lenders. First-time home buyers can qualify for subsidized loans that encourage them to buy a house.
We support all home buyers getting a home warranty. While the house will be thoroughly inspected, a lot can happen between the inspection and your move-in. A home warranty will protect you in the event that something goes wrong.
Meeting with the homeowner’s association of your new home should be part of the purchase process. At that meeting, the HOA will give over the contract and everything else you need to know about the neighborhood.
