I have spent more than a quarter of a century helping people in East Texas with their goals in real estate. It is amazing what I have seen and been through. So much has happened over this time that I wish I had written a book about the journeys and the experiences I have had in selling real estate. I've always believed that success comes from two simple principles: honesty and hard work. My career in real estate illustrates the truth of this philosophy. From breaking records in my first year as a sales agent to building a multi-million-dollar real estate company from the ground up, I am driven to lead with integrity and outwork everyone else.

As the founder of Lone Star Realty, I collaborate with an exceptional group of agents to showcase and sell a stunning array of waterfront and residential homes, farm and ranch properties, and rural tracts of land in more than 19 counties across East Texas. Since Lone Star Realty’s humble beginnings as a home-based company in 2003, it has grown into a network of four offices with collective sales reaching nearly $800,000,000, including more than $150,000,000 I have personally brought in.

Buying or selling property represents a major transition, and I strive to help customers feel confident as they achieve milestones and realize long-held dreams. As a trusted guide, I connect with clients and understand their priorities throughout the process, from narrowing down initial options to negotiating the final purchase. Recognized by the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors for my industry acumen, I served on GTAR’s committees for 11 years before being elected Chairman of the Board in 2015. I have also been nominated as a Five Star Real Estate Agent by my past clients.

Although I’ve lived and breathed real estate for nearly three decades, I started on a very different path. After graduating from the University of Texas in 1974 with a degree in Advertising, my wife Barbara and I left Austin for East Texas in 1980. In 1985, we launched Alexander Campbell, a women’s sportswear company that became a multi-million-dollar success, shipping to approximately 33 states in the US as well as Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We sold the company in 1997, and, at my wife’s suggestion, we became licensed Realtors® in the summer of 1999. I wish I had made this decision when I was 25. When I started Lone Star Realty, it was just me, operating in the sunroom of our home. It has now grown to four offices and with approximately 17 agents located in Hideaway, Holly Lake Ranch, Lake Fork, Mineola, Terrell, and Winnsboro.

Our three children and grandchildren are a source of continual pride. Outside of work, my wife and I are dedicated University of Texas Longhorns fans. I enjoy fishing with Barbara at our lake house and playing golf with my brother whenever I get the chance. My passion for my work, however, remains my main interest. I intend to serve my clients with the same honesty and integrity that has helped my business to grow and flourish. As Mark Twain advised, “Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.”

It is my goal to help you create the wonderful experience I had while growing up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle. I graduated from West Texas State University and continued my education at the University of Texas at Tyler. As an educator for 30+ years, I first taught math and then spent the last 25 years as an administrator. I concluded my career in education after leading a STEM academy with the University of Texas of the Permian Basin located in Odessa, TX.

Living at Holly Lake Ranch for almost 20 years has been a wonderful experience for my wife, Cara, and our two boys. She has been the principal of James Poole Elementary for over 15 years. Both of our boys graduated from Texas A&M University. Our oldest son and his wife live in Fort Worth while he works as a project engineer. Our youngest son is now in his second year of Texas Tech School of Law.

She’s the real deal, born at Baylor Dallas, Patti is a proud Native Texan. In 1980 Patti pursued a legal career graduating from paralegal school and worked for over ten years for Harris County Probate Judge, Jim Scanlan, one of the first legal assistants in Texas to work for a judge. Patti was instrumental in the creation of the Legal Assistant Division of the State Bar of Texas and was elected to serve as one of the first Directors. After a decade in the legal profession Patti decided to go back to college. Through grants, scholarships and personal savings she put herself through the University of St. Thomas, earning a BBA with a double major in Business Administration and Economics and received the University’s highest academic awards and recognitions including Wall Street Journal Student Achievement award.

However, instead of climbing the corporate ladder Patti decided to pursue her true passion: writing. She became a professional journalist as a newspaper reporter throughout three states. Her weekly columns, titled Life’s a Trip, appeared in 13-15 Dallas area newspapers for over 12 years. Various and numerous travel pieces were published in the Dallas Morning News and San Antonio travel sections. Many of her personal articles appeared in multiply magazines and she authored a published book.

Intrigued by real estate Patti decided to become a realtor and was licensed in 2010. Her dedication to clients and heartfelt desire to assist others made her career flourish in both the DFW area and East Texas. She moved to HLR full-time in 2014 and after a few years traveling, returned to real estate joining Lone Star Realty in February 2022. Her most valuable remuneration is doing for and giving to her clients.
