I have spent more than a quarter of a century helping people in East Texas with their goals in real estate. It is amazing what I have seen and been through. So much has happened over this time that I wish I had written a book about the journeys and the experiences I have had in selling real estate. I've always believed that success comes from two simple principles: honesty and hard work. My career in real estate illustrates the truth of this philosophy. From breaking records in my first year as a sales agent to building a multi-million-dollar real estate company from the ground up, I am driven to lead with integrity and outwork everyone else.

As the founder of Lone Star Realty, I collaborate with an exceptional group of agents to showcase and sell a stunning array of waterfront and residential homes, farm and ranch properties, and rural tracts of land in more than 19 counties across East Texas. Since Lone Star Realty’s humble beginnings as a home-based company in 2003, it has grown into a network of four offices with collective sales reaching nearly $800,000,000, including more than $150,000,000 I have personally brought in.

Buying or selling property represents a major transition, and I strive to help customers feel confident as they achieve milestones and realize long-held dreams. As a trusted guide, I connect with clients and understand their priorities throughout the process, from narrowing down initial options to negotiating the final purchase. Recognized by the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors for my industry acumen, I served on GTAR’s committees for 11 years before being elected Chairman of the Board in 2015. I have also been nominated as a Five Star Real Estate Agent by my past clients.

Although I’ve lived and breathed real estate for nearly three decades, I started on a very different path. After graduating from the University of Texas in 1974 with a degree in Advertising, my wife Barbara and I left Austin for East Texas in 1980. In 1985, we launched Alexander Campbell, a women’s sportswear company that became a multi-million-dollar success, shipping to approximately 33 states in the US as well as Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We sold the company in 1997, and, at my wife’s suggestion, we became licensed Realtors® in the summer of 1999. I wish I had made this decision when I was 25. When I started Lone Star Realty, it was just me, operating in the sunroom of our home. It has now grown to four offices and with approximately 17 agents located in Hideaway, Holly Lake Ranch, Lake Fork, Mineola, Terrell, and Winnsboro.

Our three children and grandchildren are a source of continual pride. Outside of work, my wife and I are dedicated University of Texas Longhorns fans. I enjoy fishing with Barbara at our lake house and playing golf with my brother whenever I get the chance. My passion for my work, however, remains my main interest. I intend to serve my clients with the same honesty and integrity that has helped my business to grow and flourish. As Mark Twain advised, “Always do right. I live in Emory, Texas. I am a graduate of Texas A & M – Commerce with a BA in Construction Science. I am mom to four wonderful boys and “Lolli” to nine wonderful grandchildren that rock my world!

I have worn a lot of hats in my career --- I own a locally owned and operated coffee shop in Emory, Texas; I worked for the City of Emory as Director of Community Development and then as the Economic Development Director; our family owned and operated poultry houses in Pickton, Texas; and I have been a real estate agent since 2003.

As a seasoned real estate professional with over a decade of experience in the vibrant Lake Fork area. My career began with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. I spent the first part of my career in healthcare, specializing in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. During my seven years in the field, I worked with heart and lung disease patients, played a pivotal role in the accreditation of Baylor Grapevine’s rehab program, and spearheaded the creation of its intern program.

My name is Kathy Blackstead. I have been a licensed & active Realtor since 1993. I am a member of the Texas Assoc. of Realtors and the National Assoc. of Realtors. I spent 21 years working for the same brokerage company in Irving. During that time, I served on several different committees for our local association of Realtors. In 2003 I was voted to the highest position in our association and that was President of The Irving Las Colinas Association of Realtors. Being President of our Association was a great experience for me. It provided me a wonderful opportunity of seeing and working in real estate from the local level, to the state level and also at the national level.

My name is David Altom and I am an agent for Lone Star Realty. Over the years, I've worked a number of different jobs that required me to use my heart, my hands and my head. I'm a third generation handyman, having learned from the best; my father and my grandfather. By the time I was just 22 I had built my own home. I'm a life-long Texan and have at times lived all the way from El Paso to our current home at Lake Fork. I tend to stay busy with work but I still find time to squeeze in a little bass fishing. I also like to relax with wood working and stained glass projects. My work life has been varied and over time that variety has proven to be very educational. In my early years, for instance, I was a Fire Department Paramedic. Later on I got my hands dirty as a General Contractor. With the dawning of the computer age I became involved in Information Technology at JP Morgan Chase. Prior to my retirement from JP Morgan Chase I began studying Real Estate on evenings and weekends, obtaining my Texas Agent's License in 2013.

With my wife Judy, who was a career law enforcement officer for some 30 years, we are the proud grandparents of a beautiful baby girl, born to my son and his wife. Certainly we do treasure spending time with our growing family. We sometimes joke that had we known how much fun grand kids were going to be we would have just had them first.
